Proof of Concept (POC) – 3 phase project:
In 2019, WEF initiated a POC in Tajikistan with 3 candidates who initiated a 10-course Cyber Security certification program using the online EDX platform. Each course takes 4-6 weeks to complete. Working with University of Central Asia School of Professional & Continuing Educations (UCA SPCE), an MOU was developed to create a new certification course in 2020 and for the institution to employ the 3 certified candidates. The POC is in its final stage awaiting the candidates to complete the final hands-on workshop in May 2020 and for UCA-SPCE to approve and initiate registration for the new course in July 2020.
WEF has also engaged with an IT Services company Khushkor LLC which currently offers mobile and web development services in the country and are interested in expanding their offerings to include cyber security services and employ the future UCA-SPCE certified candidates in 2021.
Future & Expansion Plan:
Upon successful launch of the courses at UCA-SPCE in July 2020, we plan to look for replication with new skill training with Data & Analytics skills in 2021. In parallel, we are engaging with Northern Pakistan AKDN subsidiary Accelerated Prosperity (AP) regional manager to gain support for replication of Cyber Security skills like Tajikistan.
