Mission:

The project aims to achieve 30 learning spaces in 36 months with 100 virtual volunteers impacting 2000 students in Tajikistan, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh.

Project Description:

The project will connect native English speaking volunteers from USA and other English speaking countries to students and youth in Tajikistan, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh over the internet using an online platform. The program will focus on English language skills, Math skills, Career Counseling and Teachers Training.

Learning through Borders (LTB) is an initiative of two young high school graduates Ariza Nanji and Alihasan Lakhani from Kansas City, to teach students in Tajikistan by virtually connecting with them through internet. The Worldwide Education Fund of the Dallas Foundation (WEF) established a partnership with Learning through Borders (LTB) and through this partnership, WEF is improving the scope and efficiency of Learning through Borders (LTB) by deploying strategies and providing manpower and financial support.

We have strategies and tactics in place to overcome the continuing challenge to select ideal partners, growing virtual volunteer team in the western countries and refreshing and improving content.

Project Update:

The program is already working successfully in 8 American Corner Spaces and a space at UCA-SPCE Khorog benefiting over 500 students virtually to improve the quality and scope of English language skills in Tajikistan.

WEF-LTB Global Virtual School (GVS) Expansion and Replication Plans:

WEF wishes to expand the program with ideal partners in different countries where this program can help students and youths to improve their English Language skills, Math skills, provide Career Counselling Coaching and Teacher Training.

WEF wishes to further expand this program in Tajikistan and with a plan to replicate in other surrounding Central Asian countries, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh by leveraging our long term relationship with American Corners/ American Embassy in Tajikistan and UCA-SPCE.

An ideal partner should be able to provide a learning space with facilitators to administer the program taught by the virtual volunteers, and a set of technology.
